GAN Timer

GAN Smart Timer

GAN Timer is GAN's first-generation smart timer for speedcubing. It works like a regular timer and also connects via Bluetooth to the Cube Station app. Your time goes straight to the app after each solve, so you don't have to type it in by hand. The timer also works fully on its own, without a phone and without connecting to a cube.

What this timer can do

• Average of 5 solves. The timer calculates the average of your last five solves on its own, giving you the ao5 result known from competitions.
• Button lock. After you stop the time, the buttons lock for about a second, so an accidental touch won't reset your result.
• Bluetooth and Cube Station. Once connected to the app, your times and statistics are saved automatically and are available on multiple devices. The timer also works with GAN smart cubes, but you can time solves of any cube.
• 2.5 mm jack output. Lets you connect the timer by cable to a computer or to an external display, e.g. one from Speed Stacks.

Power and design

The timer runs on four 1.5 V AAA batteries. Each pair sits in a separate compartment under one of the touch pads. This spreads the weight evenly, so the timer lies steadily on the table. When replacing the batteries, keep in mind that the compartments are screwed shut and you need a small screwdriver (M2 or M3) to open them.

Batteries are not included.

Timer mat

The timer is compatible with the GAN 30x30 mat. It fits the mat's contoured shape, so it doesn't slide around during a session.

Who is it for?

This timer is a great choice if you train regularly and want your results saved in an app, not just read off the display. It also works well as a first real timer for a child who has started timing solves on a phone. If you only need basic timing, you won't use the Bluetooth features. If you want GAN's newer design, take a look at the Halo series.
