Giiker Super Decoder is an electronic logic puzzle that fits in the palm of your hand. The rules are the same as in classic Mastermind. The device generates a secret code from four colors, and you have 7 attempts to crack it. There is no screen and no app. You play with a knob and watch the LEDs.

How to play

You choose a color by turning the knob. A short press moves you to the next position, and a long press confirms the whole code. After each attempt, you get a hint. A green light means the right color in the right position, and a white light means the right color in the wrong position. Blind guessing quickly ends in defeat. You need to gather information from each attempt and rule out combinations that don't fit. Before the game, you choose one of two hint types: direct or indirect.

Levels and game modes

• Over 600 levels: 100 in Easy Mode and 500 in Advanced Mode. The difficulty increases gradually.
• Solo Mode: the player solves a series of preprogrammed puzzles.
• Duo Mode: one person sets the secret code and the other tries to crack it.

Easy Mode lets you learn the rules at your own pace. The real challenge begins in Advanced Mode, which contains most of the levels. This makes Super Decoder fun for both kids and adults.

For anyone who enjoys deduction puzzles rather than hands-on solving. It's a nice change for a cuber who wants to put the cube down for a while and think about something else. It also makes a good gift for a child. The manufacturer recommends it for ages 5 and up. Younger children usually need some help from an adult at first to understand the hints.
