KB 2x2 - Pig

KB 2x2 - Pig is a 2x2 cube shaped like a little pig. This type of puzzle is called a shape mod. Inside, it has a standard 2x2 mechanism, but on the outside you see an animal figure instead of a cube. You turn it just like a classic 2x2x2 cube. Once scrambled, the puzzle loses its shape, and solving it means restoring the pig's silhouette. The figure measures approx. 7.5 x 7.5 x 8.14 cm and is available in five colors: White, Blue, Pink, Green and Orange.

How to solve the 2x2 pig

Each variant is a single color, so there are no colored faces to tell you where a piece belongs. You read the position and orientation of the corners from the shape of the figure. That's the whole fun of it, and it's what sets the pig apart from a regular 2x2. The solving methods stay the same. If you already know how to solve a 2x2, for example with the layer-by-layer (LBL) method, you'll use the same algorithms. You just need to switch from looking at colors to looking at shape. At first, this takes a bit more attention than a regular cube.
