LanLan Heart Copter is a collector's puzzle from LanLan, built on the Redi Cube mechanism. You may also know it as the Honey Copter. In the middle of each face, the cuts form four connected hearts. The mechanism is the same as in the Redi Cube; only the shape of the cuts is different. The cube has a black body and stickers.

Corner-turning, not a copter

The name can be misleading. The Heart Copter does not turn around its edges like the Helicopter Cube or the Curvy Copter. Here, you turn the corners. Each corner move shifts three adjacent edges, and the heart fragments move along with them. Once scrambled, the pattern on the faces falls apart, but the structure of the cube itself stays the same.

How to solve it

If you know the Redi Cube, you can solve the Heart Copter without learning a new method. If you have already solved a 3x3 or a Skewb, you will usually figure out how it works quickly. It is more of a collectible variation of a well-known puzzle than a new challenge.

The turning is decent, but don't expect a speed cube. Users report that the cube tends to lock up with fast, imprecise moves, so it is better to turn it calmly and accurately. Because of the shape of the cuts, the corners are fairly sharp, so watch your fingers if you turn aggressively. If you already have a Redi Cube and simply want a puzzle that turns well, a standard Redi will give you more comfort.

Who is it for?

For collectors of shape mod puzzles and for anyone who likes the Redi Cube and wants it in a more interesting form. It is also a nice gift for someone who already solves cubes and will appreciate its unusual look. If you are buying it for a younger child, keep the sharper corners in mind. The Heart Copter is not a WCA event.
