LanLan Master Clover Cube

LanLan Master Clover Cube is an edge-turning puzzle with 12 axes of rotation. It turns around the edges rather than around the face centers. It works much like the classic Clover Cube, but each edge has two turning layers instead of one. This extra layer significantly increases jumbling, meaning moves after which the puzzle loses its cube shape. There is also more bandaging, situations in which the position of the pieces temporarily blocks some moves. The puzzle has a black body and no magnets.

How it solves

This is not a speedcubing puzzle but a collector's puzzle. It is all about figuring things out and experimenting, not TPS. According to user feedback, the mechanism is fairly stiff, and sometimes you need to push a layer harder to get it moving. You also have to get used to the fact that an unfinished turn at one edge can block turns at the neighboring edges. Because of this, at first it is hard to tell a real block from ordinary resistance in the mechanism.

According to reviewers, the jump in difficulty compared to the Clover Cube or the Curvy Copter is not big. Most of the work goes into restoring the cube shape after a thorough scramble with jumbling. Solving the colors afterwards feels more familiar.

Who is it for?

For those who have already solved the Helicopter Cube, the Curvy Copter or the regular Clover and are looking for another jumbling puzzle. It is also a good choice for collectors of unusual shapes. For your first edge-turning puzzle, it is better to choose a simpler model from this family. The Master Clover can be discouraging if you are not yet familiar with how such puzzles work.
