Lee 2x2 Fisher Cube

Lee 2x2 Fisher Cube brings the idea of the classic Fisher Cube to a 2x2 cube. Inside, a regular 2x2 cube does all the work, and 3D-printed caps are fitted onto its pieces. After a few moves the cube loses its cubic shape and no longer looks like a 2x2, even though mechanically it still is one. This shape mod is handmade by Lee and sold in the Lee and Calvin's Puzzle series. We offer it with a black body and stickers.

How to solve it

Since there is a standard 2x2 inside, you solve it the same way as a regular 2x2 cube. All you need is a 2x2 method. The tricky part is that once scrambled, the shape of the pieces doesn't help you solve it, so you need to know the color scheme well, meaning which colors are opposite each other and which are adjacent. If you have only ever looked at the stickers so far, you will need to rethink quite a lot here.

According to user reviews, the turning is a bit sandy at first and gets lighter once the cube is broken in. Lubing usually helps noticeably. This is not a speedcubing cube but a collector's puzzle. Don't expect high TPS or corner cutting on the level of a good magnetic cube.

Fisher or another 2x2 shape mod?

In this series, the Fisher 2x2 is more of a starter option. If you have already solved a few shape mods, you may find it not very demanding. Windmill, Axis and Dual Fisher from the same family offer a bigger challenge.

For anyone who can solve a 2x2 and wants to start exploring shape-shifting cubes without learning a new method. Shape mod collectors will enjoy it too. For a child who is just learning to solve, it's better to buy a regular 2x2 first.
