Lee 2x2 Fisher Cube v2 is a shape mod built on a standard 2x2 cube. The mechanism and the moves are the same as in a classic 2x2. What changes is the shape of the outer pieces: when solved, the puzzle is a cube, but the cutting planes are rotated by 45 degrees around one axis, just like in the well-known 3x3 Fisher Cube. After a few moves the puzzle loses its cube shape and looks completely different from a regular 2x2.

How to solve the 2x2 Fisher Cube

The Fisher 2x2 is solved the same way as a regular 2x2, so the same algorithms are all you need. The harder part is recognizing the pieces. The corners have different shapes, and the unusual geometry makes it hard to see right away where a piece should go. You need to know the color scheme well and look at both the colors and the shape of the puzzle. If you can already solve a 2x2, you will usually get the hang of it quickly. That is why the Fisher Cube is an accessible entry into the world of shape mods rather than a demanding challenge.

The Fisher Cube v2 is for anyone who can solve a 2x2 and wants some variety, as well as for collectors of shape-shifting puzzles. It is not a cube for breaking time records. What matters here is shape recognition, not TPS. It can also be a great gift for a child who has already mastered the regular 2x2 and wants something new.

Do not pry or twist the corners of a 2x2 cube, as this may damage the piece. If the cube pops, take the layers apart and reassemble the pieces instead of forcing individual corners back in.
