A handmade Lee shape mod built on a 6x6 cube mechanism. 3D-printed pieces make the cuts look rotated by 45° on two axes, so the cube loses its shape when scrambled. You solve it with the same method as a regular 6x6, but recognizing the pieces is much harder. Black body with stickers.
Lee 6x6 Double-Fisher Cube is a handmade shape mod. Inside, it runs on the mechanism of a regular 6x6 cube, while Lee attaches 3D-printed pieces on the outside. The idea comes from Tony Fisher's classic Fisher Cube, in which the cutting planes are rotated by 45° around one axis. In the Double-Fisher version (also known as Dual Fisher), this is repeated on two axes. When solved, the faces form a symmetrical pattern, and once scrambled, the cube quickly loses its regular shape. This unit has a black body and stickers.
Mechanically it is still a 6x6, so you use the same method as on a regular 6x6: reduction, meaning solving the centers and pairing the edges, followed by the 3x3 stage with the parities typical of even-layered cubes. The challenge lies in recognizing the pieces. You can't rely on shape, because similar-looking pieces can play completely different roles. It is also not immediately clear which layer is "regular" and which is rotated. You have to go by the colors and plan your moves carefully, so a single solve takes much longer than on a standard 6x6.
This is not a speedcubing cube, and it makes no sense to judge it by TPS or corner cutting. The 3D-printed pieces add size and weight, so turning is calmer than on a mass-produced 6x6. The seller Lee works with describes the turning as smooth. Handling the cube gently matters more here than with factory models, because each unit is finished by hand.
For someone who solves the 6x6 comfortably and wants a new challenge, and for collectors of unusual puzzles. If you are just learning bigger cubes or are not yet familiar with shape mods, it will be easier to start with smaller Fisher cubes, e.g. 2x2 or 3x3. This model is not suitable as a first cube for a child.
