A handmade 7x7 mirror cube by Lee, built on a 7x7 mechanism with glued-on 3D-printed caps. You solve it by the shape of the pieces, not by colour. It has a black body, silver stickers, measures approx. 95 mm and weighs approx. 509 g, and comes with a spare set of stickers.
Lee Mirror 7x7 is a 7x7 mirror cube that you solve by shape, not by colour. All faces have the same silver stickers, and the pieces differ in thickness. The cube is solved only when it forms an even cube shape again. It is a handmade shape mod: Lee takes a standard 7x7 mechanism and glues 3D-printed caps onto it. This version has a black body and silver stickers.
On a 3x3 mirror cube, the differences in layer thickness are obvious at a glance. A 7x7 has seven layers on each axis, so neighbouring pieces differ only very slightly. Most of your time goes into looking closely at the cube and comparing piece heights. The solving method is the same as on a regular 7x7 (reduction: centers, edge pairing, then 3x3), but every stage is much slower because you can't rely on colours. Without solid 7x7 experience and some practice on smaller mirror cubes, it will be hard to even get started.
This is not a speedcubing puzzle. It measures approx. 95 mm and weighs approx. 509 g without packaging, so you turn it slowly, usually with both hands. According to user reviews, turning is quite decent for a mod with printed parts, and popping is rare. Still, don't expect the smoothness of a factory-made flagship 7x7.
The caps are glued on by hand, so the cube doesn't handle drops or forcing pieces well. An occasional cap may also come loose. The set includes a spare set of stickers, which comes in handy if any of them wear off or peel.
For shape mod collectors and cubers who have already mastered smaller mirror cubes and regular big cubes and want something much harder. For a first cube or a gift for a child, a 3x3 mirror cube is a better choice. The Lee Mirror 7x7 also looks great on a shelf as part of a collection.
