Lee SQ2 body-shift cylinder is a cylinder-shaped Square-2 by modder Lee (Calvin's Puzzle). The slice line runs through the center of the puzzle, making this model a great fit for people who already solve the Square-1 and for collectors. Available colors: White and Yellow.
Lee SQ2 body-shift cylinder is a Square-2 puzzle in the shape of a cylinder. It was made by Lee, a modder known for his unusual Square-1 modifications. His puzzles are sold under the Calvin's Puzzle brand. This isn't just another speedcubing cube. It's a shape mod for people who already know the Square-1 and are looking for something more challenging. We offer it in two colors: White and Yellow.
The Square-2 is based on the Square-1 mechanism. You still have top and bottom layers made of wedges and a slice move through the middle. The difference is the additional cuts, so more pieces change position and it's harder to restore order once the puzzle is scrambled. In the body-shift series, the slice line runs through the center of the puzzle. On a classic Square-1 it is offset to one side. Because of this, the puzzle behaves differently than its appearance would suggest. The round shell adds to the challenge: the layer shapes you know from the Square-1 are harder to recognize at first glance.
Lee makes his mods by hand, in small batches. So don't expect them to perform like a factory-made speedcubing puzzle such as the MoYu Meilong Square-1. What matters here is the shape and the mechanism itself. This model isn't meant for setting fast times. It's better solved calmly, layer by layer.
We also carry the Lee SQ2 body-shift cube. It's the same idea, but in the shape of a cube. The cube version looks like a classic Square-1, so it's easier to find your way around it. The cylinder looks completely different from the very first turn. The two versions complement each other well in a collection. If you're choosing just one and are only getting to know the Square-2, start with the cube.
For twisty puzzle collectors and for people who can solve the Square-1 on their own and want to try a harder variant. This model isn't suitable as a first puzzle or as a gift for a child who is just starting out. In that case, a regular Square-1 is a better choice.
