What is the Twins Cube (Skewb version)?

The design is derived from the Skewby Copter, an MF8 puzzle that combines moves known from the Skewb and the Copter. The Twins Cube has an additional cut, so it allows deeper scrambling and takes on more irregular shapes. Each sticker corresponds to a separate piece. No piece is connected to a neighbouring one, e.g. by a shared foot. After just a few moves, the cube loses its cubic shape, and restoring it requires understanding how the individual pieces move.

How does it turn?

The internal mechanism is very complex, so turning feels clunky and is not as smooth as on a typical speed cube. You need to turn calmly and precisely. Aggressive turning makes no sense here, as this kind of design easily leads to lockups. The mechanism has adjustment screws, so you can tune the tension to your liking to some extent.

Who is it for?

For collectors of unusual puzzles and for advanced solvers who know the Skewb and the Copter well and are looking for a tougher challenge. You will need plenty of patience. The Twins Cube is not suitable as a first puzzle, including for children. To start with, a regular Skewb is a better choice. This puzzle is not allowed in official competitions.
