The Monster Go Skewb is the first Skewb in the Monster Go series, GAN's budget brand. On a Skewb you turn halves of the puzzle around the corners, not layers like on a 3x3. There are only a few algorithms, so many people learn it as their second puzzle after the classic cube. Skewb is also an official event at competitions. This model is inexpensive, but GAN's experience shows: precisely made pieces, matte plastic and tension adjustment with GES springs.

How it turns

The puzzle has no magnets. Instead, it has small bumps and notches that "click" into place as you finish a move. This gives a distinct, slightly tactile snap and helps align the pieces without magnets. Users praise its smooth and relatively quiet turning straight out of the box, as well as its stable construction, which rarely pops.

Its weaker point is corner cutting. Reviewers rate it from "decent" to modest, so imprecise moves can lead to lockups. If you compare this model with flagship Skewbs, you will feel the difference in speed and error tolerance.

Tension adjustment

Tension is adjusted with the GES system. Green springs come pre-installed. The nuts let you set the puzzle looser for faster turning or tighter for more control. You don't need a screwdriver to do this.
