MoYu 3x3 M Weilong WRM 2021 Lite

A 2021 magnetic 3x3 cube, the successor to the WeiLong WR M 2020.
It measures 55 mm per side, so it is slightly smaller than a typical 3x3 (56 mm), and weighs approx. 78 g. The MoYu WeiLong WRM 2021 Lite lets you adjust both the springs and the magnet strength. The "Lite" label mainly refers to the simpler packaging. The cube itself is the WR M 2021 with a traditional screw-and-spring system, without MagLev.

How the WeiLong WRM 2021 Lite solves

This cube is clearly built for speed: turning is light and fast, and corner cutting is eager. Some users report that it can feel stiff and fairly dry out of the box, and that the factory magnet setting seems weak to them. Once you adjust the tension, set stronger magnets and lube it, the cube usually turns more smoothly and is easier to control. If you prefer a calmer, more controllable feel, be ready to experiment with the setup a few times. Stronger spring compression, for example, helps.

Adjustment

You can set the magnet strength to 5 levels. Simply turn a layer to expose the magnetic element and rotate it with the included tool. The core has a dual adjustment system. Tension is changed with the screw, and spring compression separately, across 9 levels. This gives you plenty of options: you can set the cube loose and fast or tighter and more stable.

Lite or MagLev?

The WR M 2021 MagLev version was based on the Lite and has the same pieces. The difference is in the core: in the MagLev, the springs are replaced with repelling magnets, which makes turning even lighter and the cube a few grams heavier. The Lite is a good choice if you prefer classic springs or don't want to switch to MagLev.

Who is it for?

The Lite works well if, after your first magnetic cube, you're looking for a fully adjustable model but don't want to buy the latest flagship. The 55 mm size will be appreciated by people with smaller hands. The cube is allowed in official competitions. It also makes a good first cube for a child, although it only shows its full potential after setup and lubing.
