MoYu AI Klotski II is an electronic version of the classic Klotski sliding puzzle, known in China as Huarong Dao. It is not a twisty cube but a logic puzzle in which you slide blocks around. The goal is to move the red block to the exit. What sets it apart from a regular wooden or plastic Klotski is the built-in LED screen. The screen gives you new challenges and shows what is happening on the board in real time.

How to play

A starting layout appears on the screen, and you arrange the blocks to match it. Then the actual game begins: you slide the pieces around the board using the empty spaces until the red block reaches the exit. In line with the classic rules, you can't lift or rotate the blocks, only slide them. Sound effects accompany the game, so you know right away when you've completed a level.

The levels go from easier to harder. At first it's easy to get the hang of the rules, and later on the challenges require planning several moves ahead. That's the very nature of Klotski: what counts is logical thinking and spatial imagination, not finger speed.

How is it different from a regular Klotski?

A classic board has one or a few starting layouts, which you eventually learn by heart. In the AI Klotski II, the device gives you the challenges, so you don't have to look for layouts in the manual or online. That's handy when you want the puzzle to last longer than a few evenings.
