MoYu AI Timer is a speedcubing timer with built-in Bluetooth. It measures time to an accuracy of 0.001 s and can send your results to the WCU Cube app on iOS and Android. It works just like competition timers: you place both hands on the touch pads, lift them to start the timing, and put them back down after solving to stop it. We stock the blue version.

How it performs day to day

While timing, the timer locks all buttons. Accidentally touching the casing during a solve won't stop the timing or reset your result. Users point out that the touch pads are sensitive and respond quickly. This matters when you practice hand starts, because a slow timer inflates your times. The result is shown on the display, so you don't need your phone for regular practice.

Bluetooth and the WCU Cube app

Once connected to the WCU Cube app, your times are saved automatically, so you don't have to copy them by hand. User opinions on the app vary, so we treat it as an extra. The timer itself is what matters most and what makes practice comfortable. The timer also works with the MoYu Tournament Display, an external display that shows the time to spectators, e.g. at local competitions or in a school club.

Power

The timer runs on 3 AAA batteries, which are not included. Buy them together with the timer so you can start using it right after unboxing. The newer MoYu version (Training Assistant) has a built-in rechargeable battery and extra training features. The AI Timer is a simpler design without those features, powered by regular batteries.
