MoYu CFOP Mat Medium

MoYu CFOP Mat Medium is a black speedcubing mat printed with CFOP method algorithms. It does two jobs. It protects your cube and your desk while you solve, and it also works as a cheat sheet: instead of looking up a case on your phone or on a piece of paper, you just glance at the mat next to your cube.

What's on the mat

The print covers all three CFOP stages where you learn algorithms: F2L, OLL and PLL. The graphics are black and white with high contrast, so the cases are easy to read from a normal distance at your desk. It's most useful if you're learning full OLL and PLL or moving from intuitive F2L to algorithmic solutions for specific cases.

Keep in mind that the mat shows one set of algorithms. Advanced cubers often use different algorithms chosen to suit their own fingertricks and turning style. You also need to know basic notation to read the print.

Size and use

The Medium version measures about 50 x 36 cm. It fits on a regular desk and leaves room for your cube and timer. It's about 2 mm thick, so it cushions the cube when you put it down and reduces the noise when it hits the desk. The mat has holes for attaching a MoYu timer. MoYu also makes a larger version of this mat (Large) for those who need more space.

Who is it for?

The mat is a good fit if you can already solve a 3x3 cube with the layer-by-layer method and are starting to learn CFOP. It's also handy if you're filling in missing OLL and PLL cases and want to have them at hand during practice. It can also be a practical gift for a child who is getting into speedcubing. If you already know full CFOP, you'll mostly use it as a regular solving mat.
