A budget smart cube from MoYu: a magnetic 3x3 with Bluetooth that sends your moves to an app on your phone. MoYu Magnetic AI 3x3x3 v2 is the second generation of this manufacturer's AI Cube. It was released in 2023 and has a simpler design than the smart cubes in the WeiLong AI series. It measures 56 mm and comes in a stickerless bright colour scheme.

How it turns

Mechanically, this is a solid lower-end magnetic cube rather than a flagship. The magnets are medium strength, and users describe the turning as blocky and stable, with no tendency to overshoot. This feel works well for learning and relaxed solving. If you are used to flagship models with high TPS and very loose corner cutting, you will notice the difference, though, because this cube feels closer to cheaper magnetic 3x3s.

Smart cube features

The electronics inside register every turn and send it via Bluetooth to the app. This lets you see the current state of the cube on your phone, and the app can guide you through learning to solve, save your solve times and let you race online against other cubers. The electronics are hidden inside, so from the outside the cube looks just like a regular 3x3.

Before you buy, check one thing: the MoYu app for this model was initially available mainly in Chinese, and some users reported connection problems. The app is what determines how much you can get out of the smart features.
