MoYu Megaminx AoHun WRM
A magnetic megaminx from
MoYu's WR M series, based on the original
AoHun. The
MoYu Megaminx AoHun WRM was released in 2020 as the manufacturer's first megaminx with magnets. It is legal for official competitions. We offer the stickerless bright version: colored plastic with no stickers that could wear off or peel.
What has changed compared to the AoHun
The biggest changes are the magnets and a second adjustment system. In addition to the classic screws, there is a spring tension system with 9 levels, adjusted with the key included in the set. Inside, there are only a few changes. Torpedoes have been added, small tabs that hold the pieces together and reduce popping, and the corners are now fully enclosed. The thickened piece edges carry over from the previous version and make the cube sit better in your fingers.
How the AoHun WRM turns
Like other puzzles in the WR M series, the AoHun WRM is loose and fast. It has 120 magnets, but they are noticeably weaker than in competing megaminxes. The layers don't "snap into place" as strongly, so if you like strong magnets, you may find the cube offers too little resistance. The megaminx handles fast solves well. Compared with the top models, the
X-Man Galaxy V2 M/LM and the
DaYan Megaminx V2 M, it is only average and doesn't give the same feel. Out of the box, you will usually need to adjust the tension, lube the cube and break it in for a while.
Its size is a big advantage. At 68 mm, it is smaller than many other megaminxes, so it is easier to hold and more comfortable to turn, especially if you have smaller hands.
Who is this megaminx for?
For anyone who wants to switch to a magnetic megaminx and likes light, fast turning and a smaller size. It also suits those who enjoy setting up their cube themselves, as the screws and springs offer plenty of options. If you want strong magnets and flagship-level stability, compare it with the Galaxy V2 M or the DaYan V2 M.
