The second generation of MoYu's non-magnetic 10x10 from the Meilong series. It measures approx. 69.5 mm and weighs approx. 215 g, making it noticeably smaller than the first version. It features wider outer layers, rounded corners, a reinforced structure that protects against popping and screw tension adjustment.
This is the second generation of the budget 10x10 from the Meilong series, which MoYu also sells under the MFJS (MoFang JiaoShi) brand. The MoYu Meilong 10x10 V2 is a non-magnetic 10x10 cube in a stickerless bright colour scheme. The biggest change compared to the first version is the size. The V2 measures approx. 69.5 mm and weighs approx. 215 g, while the original Meilong 10x10 measured approx. 84 mm.
With big cubes, size and weight really matter. A single 10x10 solve takes a long time, and a large, heavy cube tires your hands faster. The Meilong V2 is easier to hold in one hand when turning inner layers and puts less strain on your wrists during longer sessions. The compact size does mean small pieces, though, so you need to grip the layers more precisely. If you have large hands and are used to bigger NxN cubes, it may take you a moment to adjust.
The Meilong 10x10 V2 is also available in a magnetic version with Ball-Core. It has 256 magnets in the pieces plus magnets in the core, and at the same size it weighs approx. 232 g. The magnets give a distinct "click" when aligning layers, which on a 10x10 helps reduce misalignments and corrections. The version described here is lighter and cheaper, with a freer feel and no magnetic guidance. It is perfectly fine for learning and casual solving. If you plan to time your solves regularly, it is better to take a look at the magnetic version first.
For those who have already mastered the 7x7 or 9x9 and want to try a 10x10 without spending a lot, as well as for NxN cube collectors. It is a poor choice as a child's first cube. Solving a 10x10 takes a long time and requires knowledge of the reduction method (centres, edges and finally 3x3 with parity).
