This MoYu Meilong Crystal Cube with Clover 3x3 cube has no stickers. The colors are on plastic tiles glued to the pieces. The model comes from the MoFangJiaoShi (MFJS) line, MoYu's budget brand. The Clover version has tiles with a clover pattern. We stock the version with a black body. This is above all a cube with an interesting look, not a tool for breaking records.

How it turns

To put it plainly: this cube's performance is average. It turns properly and you can solve it without problems. However, in terms of speed, corner cutting and stability, it can't match even budget speedcubes such as the MeiLong 3C or MeiLong 3M. It has no magnets. During fast turning, lockups happen more easily than on a cube designed specifically for speedcubing.

Tension is set with adjustment screws. Loosening the layers and adding a little cube lube usually improves smoothness, but it won't change the character of this cube.

Tiles instead of stickers

The tiles are thicker than stickers and wear less, so the cube keeps its good look for longer. The clover pattern sets it apart from a regular 3x3 with stickers or a stickerless version. It's still a classic 3x3 cube and you solve it with the same methods. At first glance it resembles the MeiLong Clover shape mod, but it's a different product. Here the shape is a regular cube, and the clover appears only as a pattern on the tiles.

Who is it for?

This cube makes most sense for collectors who gather cubes with unusual finishes. It can also be a gift or a shelf decoration. For learning to solve fast and for regular practice, you're better off choosing a magnetic speedcube, which will give you much more control and speed for a similar budget.
