MoYu's 3x3 mirror cube in the top V2 version: magnets in the pieces, Ball-Core for extra stability and a glossy, metallic UV coating. Size 56 mm, weight approx. 76 g, available in Golden and Silver.

A mirror cube works just like a regular 3x3 cube, but all the pieces are the same colour and differ in size instead. Once scrambled, the cube loses its cube shape, and you solve it by looking at the shape of the pieces, not at colours. MoYu Meilong Magnetic Mirror 3x3 V2 Ball Core UV is the top version of MoYu's second-generation Mirror. It has magnets, Ball-Core and a glossy UV coating with a metallic look. You can choose between Golden and Silver.
A mirror cube usually turns worse than a good 3x3 cube, because the layers have different thicknesses and the cube's centre of gravity keeps shifting. In this version, the magnets and Ball-Core noticeably improve stability. The layers snap into place on their own, and the cube handles fast turning more calmly. Users describe the turning as smooth and the magnets as fairly strong but not overdone. Corner cutting is about 20 degrees, which is good for a mirror cube, and the anti-pop mechanism reduces the risk of popping. Just keep in mind that it is still a shape mod. If your turning is inaccurate, lockups happen more often here than on a modern 3x3 cube.
The cheaper Magnetic UV version has magnets in the pieces but no Ball-Core. It comes in blue and green with a glitter finish. It is perfectly fine for learning to solve the mirror cube. Choose the Ball Core version if you want a more stable cube for faster solving, or if you like the metallic gold or silver look.
For anyone who already solves the 3x3 and wants to try something different, and for cubers who time their mirror cube solves. A regular 3x3 method is enough to solve it, but you need to learn to recognise the pieces by their shape. It is not the best choice as a very first cube - it is better to master a regular 3x3 first.
