MoYu Meilong Unicorn Cube comes from the budget Meilong series by MoFangJiaoShi (MFJS), a brand owned by MoYu. At first glance it looks like a 1x1 cube, but it has only 4 moving pieces and is one of the simplest puzzles we offer. The Macaron version is stickerless. The colors are molded into the plastic, so there are no stickers to peel off or wear away. The color palette is pastel.

How this puzzle works

Distributors describe it as a 1x1 variant of the Dino Cube that turns around its corners (corner-turning). The key thing is that the 4 moving pieces never change their position. They only rotate in place. Solving it means turning each piece to the correct orientation so that the colors on the faces match up again. With so few pieces, most people work out the solution on their own after a few tries. The included instructions will help if you get stuck.

Who is it for?

The Unicorn Cube makes a great first puzzle for a child or for someone who has never solved a cube. It shows how moving one piece changes the look of several faces, without overwhelming you with a huge number of possible scrambles. Cubers will enjoy it more as a collection piece, a short break from the 3x3 or a small gift.

Don't expect a long-term challenge here. If you have already mastered the basics and are looking for something harder in a similar style, try the Skewb or the full Dino Cube. The Unicorn Cube is not a WCA puzzle, so it is not used at official competitions.
