MoYu WeiPo WRS M 2x2x2: magnetic 2x2 cube with adjustable magnet strength

A 2x2x2 cube from MoYu, released in 2021. It is the successor to the WeiPo WR M, MoYu's first magnetic 2x2. In the WR M the magnets had a fixed strength. The biggest change in the MoYu WeiPo WRS M is that you can set their strength yourself. On top of that, there is spring tension adjustment, so you can set up the same cube for speed or for control.

How it turns

The cube is ready for speedsolving straight out of the box. Of the WeiPo WR series, it's the one we enjoy turning the most. Turning is light and smooth, and users especially praise its corner cutting. Some people point out that on loose settings the cube can feel too free, and the corners twist more easily. You may also hear the springs. Usually it's enough to tighten the springs, increase the magnet strength and lube the cube well.

Magnet and spring adjustment

The magnet strength can be adjusted in five levels for six of the magnets. These are three pairs of magnets in one corner, which you adjust with the included screwdriver. Spring tension is changed with a separate key. This lets you independently set how strongly the layers "click" and how much play the mechanism has. It's a big advantage if you like fine-tuning your setup.

Who is it for?

We recommend it for advanced cubers who know what kind of feel they're looking for and want to tune their 2x2 cube to suit them. A beginner can handle the WRS M too, but won't use all of its adjustment options. To start with, a simpler magnetic 2x2 without adjustment is enough. The cube is legal for official competitions.
