GAN Robot (outlet)

This unit ended up in our outlet because it has been unboxed once. It is fully functional, and in our shop its condition is marked as used. The GAN Robot is a device that scrambles and solves GAN 3x3 smart cubes on its own. You control it with your phone through the GAN CubeStation app. It is not a cube itself but an accessory for training with a Bluetooth cube.

What the GAN robot is good for

In practice, it is most often used for scrambling. The robot scrambles the cube for you, so all you have to do is solve it. The app also uses it in training and competition modes. The robot recognizes the state of the cube no matter how you put it in, and it can solve it back. With two cubes, you can practice just OLL, just PLL or specific scrambles.

The cube is held by 5 arms that grip the centers and turn the layers. The robot is foldable and has a non-slip base. You insert and remove the cube after pressing the button with the GAN logo.

Compatibility

The robot works only with GAN cubes. Full support is available for smart cubes from the GAN 356 i series, which connect to the app via Bluetooth. You can also solve a regular GAN cube, but you need to replace its center caps with ones that fit the robot's arms and take photos of all 6 faces in the app. The robot does not work with cubes from other brands. Users point out that the robot, the cube and the phone should be close to each other, otherwise the connection may drop.

Who is it for?

The robot is a great fit if you already have a GAN 356 i smart cube and are tired of scrambling it before every solve. It also makes a fun gadget for anyone who enjoys combining cubes with technology. If you don't have a compatible GAN cube, you will need to buy one, as the robot can't do anything on its own.
