QiYi 11x11x11 is a non-magnetic 11x11 cube measuring 88 mm and weighing approx. 415 g. Its widened outer layers give you a better grip and more stability. A good choice for your first 11x11 if you can already solve a 6x6 or 7x7.
QiYi 11x11x11 is a non-magnetic cube released by QiYi in 2024. It measures 88 mm per side and weighs approx. 415 g. That makes it fairly compact and light for an 11x11, which matters during a long solve, since you hold the cube in your hands for quite a while. We stock the stickerless bright version, made of coloured plastic with no stickers.
With big cubes, stability and resistance to popping come first and speed comes second. QiYi has used widened outer layers here. They give you a better grip and help you stay in control when turning the outer layers. The design is also meant to reduce the risk of pops. Users report that the inner layers are quite tight at first. After the very first solve the mechanism breaks in, and turning becomes noticeably smoother.
This is not a cube for aggressive TPS. Without magnets, nothing aligns the layers for you, so you need to line them up more carefully. Sloppy moves also make lockups more likely. That's normal for a cube of this size. Still, if you're used to magnetic 6x6 and 7x7 cubes, you may need a moment to adjust.
QiYi also offers a magnetic 11x11 with Ball-Core. It's a separate design: smaller (76 mm) and much lighter (approx. 297 g), with magnets in the pieces and in the core that help align the layers. The basic version described here is bigger and heavier, but simpler. It makes sense if you just want to try an 11x11 or add one to your collection. If you plan to solve 11x11 regularly and against the clock, you should probably look at the magnetic version.
For cubers who can already solve a 6x6 or 7x7 and want to test themselves on a much bigger cube. Solving an 11x11 relies on the same reduction method: centers first, then edge pairing, and finally solving it like a 3x3. There are just far more pieces, so you'll need plenty of patience. The cube is also a good fit for big cube collectors. It's a poor choice as a first cube, including for a child. To start out, a 3x3 is a better pick.
