This cube stands out at first glance. Every outer piece of the QiYi DNA 3x3x3 is perforated, creating an openwork pattern that resembles a lattice. The coloured plastic in the stickerless bright version makes the pattern clearly visible from every side. Underneath is a regular, non-magnetic 3x3 cube from QiYi. The model was released in 2019.

How the QiYi DNA 3x3 cube turns

The construction of the cube is no different from a regular 3x3. Only the outer part of the pieces is different. Algorithms, solving methods and the way the mechanism behaves are the same as in any classic cube. What changes is how it feels under your fingers: the perforated surface gives a noticeable grip. Users usually say that for such a simple model, the cube turns surprisingly well. They praise its decent corner cutting and the fact that lockups don't happen too often. Not everyone rates it the same way, though. Some people find the turning average: good enough for casual solving, but not for serious speed training.
