QiYi M Pro 7x7 Ball Core UV

QiYi M Pro 7x7 Ball Core UV

On a 7x7, a lot of time is lost fixing misaligned layers and dealing with lockups in the middle of the cube. QiYi M Pro 7x7 Ball Core UV reduces this problem with two magnet systems: classic magnets in the edges and corners, plus a magnetic Ball-Core right in the centre. The cube also has a UV coating, measures approx. 64.5 mm and comes in a stickerless bright colour scheme.

Ball-Core in a 7x7 cube

In a regular magnetic 7x7, the magnets are only in the pieces and help the layer settle after a turn. In the M Pro, the corners are also attracted to a magnetic ball in the core. According to the manufacturer, the layers align themselves more strongly and the cube holds its shape better during fast inner-layer turns. In practice, the point is that after a quick slice the layer doesn't stay slightly misaligned and block the next move. On a big cube, you make a lot of these small corrections in a single solve.

Design and adjustment

• Widened outer layers (1.6:1). The outer layers are 1.6 times wider than the inner ones, so they are easier to grip and control.
• Rounded corners help with corner cutting when a turn isn't perfectly aligned.
• Double feet and wide piece wings are designed to reduce popping and misalignment during aggressive turning.
• Anti-stick grooves reduce friction and help keep the turning smooth during longer sessions.
• Tension and elasticity adjustment. You can set the cube looser so it is more forgiving, or tighter if you prefer a more controlled feel.

The UV coating gives a glossy surface that offers better grip and is more scratch-resistant than regular plastic.

Size and weight

At approx. 64.5 mm and approx. 164 g, the M Pro is one of the smaller and lighter magnetic 7x7 cubes. During solves lasting several minutes, your hands get less tired.

Who is it for?

It's a good choice if you already solve the 7x7 and want a cube with Ball-Core and a UV coating, but don't need a top-of-the-line flagship. If you're just getting started with big cubes or buying a first 7x7 for a child, you can also consider the QiYi Warrior 7x7 in the magnetic UV version. The Warrior is smaller and lighter, but has no magnets in the core.
