QiYi Magnetic 11x11x11 Ball-Core is a magnetic 11x11 cube measuring 76 mm. For a big cube, it is very small: with eleven layers, each one is just under 7 mm wide. The cube has factory-installed magnets in the pieces as well as a Ball-Core, meaning magnets that connect the corners to the core. Until now, magnet sets for 11x11 cubes have been rare, but here everything comes already installed at the factory. Ziicube lists this model under the number QY3190.

How it turns

The most common problems with big cubes are unstable inner layers that get misaligned while turning. QiYi tackles this in three ways. The magnets in the pieces help the layers snap into place. The Ball-Core holds the corners close to the core, which makes the cube more controllable. On top of that, there is a dual-center design that, according to the manufacturer, improves stability. Early reviews praise the easy turning, even during fast solving. However, there are only a few of them so far, so we treat them as first impressions.

The small size has two sides. The cube fits comfortably in your hands and does not tire them out during long solves, and an 11x11 can take quite a while. On the other hand, the pieces are small, so your turns need to be more precise. If you have large hands, it may take you a little time to get used to it.
