QiYi Mini Magic Snake is a smaller version of the classic snake puzzle, a "magic snake" made of triangular segments connected by hinges. You rotate the segments against each other to fold the snake into all kinds of shapes, from simple figures to a ball, animals and geometric solids. Unlike a cube, there is no single solution and no scrambled state. A snake is closer to building blocks and fidget toys than to a puzzle you solve against the clock.

How a magic snake works

The snake is a chain of connected wedges that rotate at the hinges. Each turn sets a segment in one of several fixed positions, so the shapes come out neat and repeatable. The main difference is size. The standard 24-segment QiYi Magic Snake weighs approx. 85 g. The Mini version weighs approx. 18 g and fits easily in a pocket, pencil case or backpack. Smaller segments also mean less room for your fingers. For longer sessions building more complex figures, a full-size snake may be more comfortable. The Mini works better as something to twist in your hands while travelling or during a break.
