QiYi MP Magnetic Pyraminx

QiYi MP Magnetic Pyraminx is part of the MP series, QiYi's mid-range line. The series also includes 2x2, 3x3, 4x4 and 5x5 cubes. The whole line has a black interior, visible magnets and colored stickerless plastic. This magnetic Pyraminx is legal for WCA competitions and is ready for speedsolving straight out of the box.

How it turns

Turning is light, fast and smooth. The magnets help the layers and tips settle into place, so the puzzle feels stable and makes fewer accidental moves during fast sequences. Reviewers praise its good corner cutting. The construction is flexible yet resistant to popping. Some users notice an audible spring sound right out of the box. A few drops of lube on the springs usually fix this, and after a few dozen solves the mechanism breaks in and turns more evenly.

Adjustment

Tension is set with adjustment screws. Tighter screws give more controlled, stable turning, while looser ones allow faster turning and better corner cutting but require more precise moves.
