QiYi Six Spot Cube

QiYi Six Spot Cube is a shape mod designed by David Pitcher and produced under licence by QiYi since 2019. Mechanically, it is a variation of the Ivy Cube: it turns around its corners just like the Ivy, but the centers have a different shape. As a result, the puzzle looks completely different from a classic Ivy on the outside, even though it works on the same principle inside.

How to solve it

You make moves by turning the corners, not the faces. If you know the Skewb or the Ivy Cube, you will quickly figure out how this cube works. The Six Spot is one of the easier shape mods. The unusual shape takes a moment to get used to at first, but you don't need to learn lots of algorithms to solve it. A solving guide is included, so you can get started even without any previous experience with this type of puzzle.

According to descriptions, the mechanism "clicks" noticeably into its home position, which helps you align the layers after each turn. The cube has no magnets and is not designed for speedsolving. What matters most here is the unusual look and the fun of solving a new puzzle.

Who is it for?

The Six Spot Cube is mainly for collectors and anyone who already has classic cubes on the shelf and is looking for something different. Black or Stickerless Bright?

Both versions have the same mechanism and differ only in appearance. Black has a black body with colored pieces on the faces. In the Stickerless Bright version, the plastic itself is colored, so there are no stickers that could wear off over time.
