QiYi Snow Mountain Pyraminx

QiYi Snow Mountain Pyraminx is a simplified version of the pyramid puzzle. A classic Pyraminx has four colors, but this one has only two. The shape and moves are the same as on the standard model. With fewer colors, however, it's easier to see which pieces are already in place and which still need to be moved. It's a good starter puzzle for anyone just getting to know the Pyraminx.

How is it different from a regular Pyraminx?

On a regular Pyraminx, every face has a different color. When solving, you have to keep track of four colors at once, which is easy to mix up at first. The Snow Mountain has only two colors, so pieces are easier to recognize, and your first solves go faster and are less frustrating. The order of steps is the same as on a classic Pyraminx: first the tips (the small corners), then the corners, and finally the edges. That's why, once you've mastered this version, it's easy to move on to the standard pyramid.

Build

It's a simple design without magnets. We offer the stickerless bright version. The colors are in the plastic itself rather than on stickers, so nothing will peel off or wear away with frequent use. This model is mainly meant for learning and fun. If you want to train for speed, choose a magnetic Pyraminx in the full four colors. The Snow Mountain is also not suitable for official competitions, as the regulations require each face to have a different color.

For people just starting out with the Pyraminx, and for kids who find the standard pyramid difficult at first. It also makes a nice addition to the collection of anyone who already knows the classic Pyraminx and wants to try a variant with a different color scheme.
