QiYi Warrior 2x2

QiYi Warrior 2x2 is a basic, budget 2x2x2 cube from the Warrior series. The series covers QiYi's more affordable cubes in sizes from 2x2 to 7x7. This version has no "M" in its name, which means it is the non-magnetic variant. It measures 50 mm and weighs approx. 58 g. We sell it in the stickerless bright colour scheme: each colour is a separate piece of plastic, so there are no stickers that could wear off or peel.

How does a cube without magnets turn?

Without magnets, the layers don't snap into place on their own, so it's up to you to align each face properly. During fast turning, this makes overshooting and small misalignments more likely. On the other hand, you can clearly see how precise your moves are. At 50 mm and approx. 58 g, the cube is small and light and sits comfortably in the hand, kids' hands included.

Warrior 2x2 or Warrior M 2x2?

There are three 2x2 versions in the series:

• Warrior 2x2, which is this version: no magnets, the simplest and the cheapest.
• Warrior M 2x2: adds magnets that help align the layers, so the cube is more stable and easier to control when solving faster.
• Warrior M 2x2 UV: has magnets and a glossy UV coating that gives a better grip.

If you care about your times and want a cube for regular speedcubing practice, it's better to go straight for the magnetic version. The price difference is small, and magnets make a noticeable difference on a 2x2.

Who is it for?

The Warrior 2x2 works well as a first 2x2 cube for someone who already knows the 3x3 and wants to try a smaller size. It also makes a simple gift for a child or a spare cube to keep in your backpack. It's well suited for learning algorithms and casual solving. A speedcuber looking for a competition cube will rather go for the M version or a higher-end model.
