QiYi Wisdom Ball is a colorful ball made of pieces that you have to fit back together. There are no turning layers here. You take the ball apart and then reassemble it, and the pieces of each layer have to go in a specific order, otherwise the ball won't close. In our shop it sits among puzzles from outside the world of classic cubes, next to other collectible puzzles.

How solving works

Taking the ball apart takes a moment, but putting it back together usually takes much longer. Every piece has its own place and has to go in at the right moment. Some pieces fit in several places, but only the right order lets you close the ball. Memorizing an algorithm, like with a cube, isn't enough. You need to think spatially and test different arrangements. Buyers describe it as a simple yet challenging puzzle. They also praise its vivid colors and solid plastic.

The Wisdom Ball is not a puzzle for speed and has nothing to do with TPS or tensioning. If you're looking for another twisty puzzle for speedcubing, you should choose something else. This is a puzzle for relaxed tinkering at your desk.

Who is it for?

The Wisdom Ball is great for a child who enjoys building blocks and spatial puzzles but hasn't warmed up to the 3x3 cube yet. It also works for a cuber who wants something other than yet another cube in their collection, and as a small gift. The ball is small and light, so it's easy to take with you. Keep in mind, though, that it's a puzzle made of many loose pieces. When it's taken apart, it's best to keep the pieces in one place so you don't lose any.
