QiYi WuJi 7x7x7

QiYi WuJi 7x7x7 is the first 7x7 cube from QiYi MoFangGe. It completes the "Wu" series, which also includes the WuQue 4x4, WuShuang 5x5 and WuHua 6x6. Later, the same company released the Spark 7x7 under the X-Man Design brand, and more 7x7 cubes appeared in the QiYi lineup. The WuJi has no magnets. Tension is adjusted with screws, and the internal design is typical of 7x7 cubes.

How it turns

Straight out of the box, the cube feels scratchy and fairly tight. The mechanism needs breaking in, lube and tension adjustment before turning becomes smoother. At first you may experience lockups and occasional pops. Users report that this improves over time, but corner cutting is rated as average in reviews.

The feel is rather unusual, and the WuJi has not been well received among big cubers (people who specialize in 5x5, 6x6 and 7x7). Even after adjustment, it doesn't match the XMD Spark. Modern magnetic 7x7 cubes turn more stably and predictably.

Who is it for?

For regular practice and competitions, it's better to choose a newer magnetic 7x7 cube, as it turns more stably and predictably.
