SengSo 3x3 Pentahedron is a ShengShou puzzle shaped like a five-sided solid (a pentahedron is simply a polyhedron with five faces). It has three layers and five axes of rotation, which is why some catalogs list it as the 5-Axis 3-Layers Pentahedron. Despite the 3x3 label, you don't solve it like a classic 3x3 cube. It is closer to cuboids, i.e. cubes with unequal dimensions such as the 3x3x2.

How it solves

At first glance the Pentahedron looks like a simple puzzle, but after a few moves it turns out to be harder than its shape suggests. It's easiest for those who have already solved cuboids, as a similar approach works here too. Some cubers reach the solution on their own after a few hours of experimenting, without a tutorial. It's a great puzzle if you like working out a method yourself rather than learning ready-made algorithms.

Reviewers are surprised by how well it turns for such an inexpensive model. The puzzle turns smoothly right out of the box, and the corner cutting is good enough for fast solves. It has no magnets, so the feel is lighter and less "controlled" than in magnetic 3x3 cubes.
