SengSo Concavoconvex 3x3
SengSo Concavoconvex 3x3 by ShengShou is a 3x3 cube for learning and practice. It is not about breaking records. It is designed to help you understand how the cube works and how to solve it layer by layer.The rules and the solution are the same as on a classic 3x3 cube. The difference is a modification that limits telling the pieces apart to a single layer. At the beginning, this makes it easier to focus on one part of the puzzle and see how the pieces change with each move. For someone just learning the layer-by-layer method, this setup usually helps more than starting straight away with all six colors.
In terms of turning, this model is no different from the ShengShou MG356 Standard. So you get a regular 56 mm 3x3 mechanism, not a flagship speedcubing cube. The cube weighs 76 g. It has adjustment screws that let you tighten or loosen the layers. A tighter setting gives you more control, while a looser one makes the cube turn more easily and handle imprecise moves better. It comes in the stickerless bright version, so there is nothing to peel off or wear away.
The cube is not legal for official competitions. It is great for learning and practising at home, not for WCA competitions. If you already know the layer-by-layer method and want to improve your times, go for a regular 3x3 cube, ideally a magnetic one, with standard face colors.
Who is it for? Mainly for children and anyone just learning to solve the 3x3 cube. It is also a sensible choice for a parent who wants to give their child a cube for step-by-step learning rather than speedcubing gear right away. A solving guide is included, so you can start right after unboxing.
