SengSo Crazy 3x3 Megaminx v2 is a Megaminx from ShengShou with an extra twist. Around the center of each face there is a circle made of 10 additional pieces. The puzzle turns just like a regular Megaminx, but these circles don't rotate together with the face. To solve it, you need to solve the outer layers and also sort out the pieces on the circles.

What makes it "crazy"

On a regular Megaminx, turning a face also rotates its center. Here, the circle around the center stays in place when you turn that face. Its pieces only move when you turn the neighboring faces. As a result, a scrambled puzzle shows patterns you won't find on a standard Megaminx. The solving method stays largely the same, but there is an extra stage of placing the circle pieces, which takes some thinking or a few additional algorithms.

How it turns

Many shape mods turn worse than their regular counterparts, but users rate the turning of this one as close to a regular Megaminx. You don't have to fight the mechanism, so you can focus on solving.
