ShengShou Crazy Tower II (SengSo, also sold in other shops as Crazy Magic Tower V2) is a pyramid-shaped puzzle based on Pyraminx-type puzzles. It is not an ordinary Pyraminx. Each face has a circle that rotates when you turn the opposite corner. Pieces that stay in place on a regular Pyraminx move around here, so even if you know the classic methods, you will have to work a few things out from scratch. This model comes in stickerless bright, meaning no stickers, just coloured plastic.

How it differs from the first Crazy Magic Tower

The first Crazy Magic Tower was based on Jing's Pyraminx and added rotating circles to its faces. In version II, ShengShou added an extra layer, so there are more pieces to solve and the puzzle itself is harder. If you already have the first version and solve it with ease, the second one is a sensible next step.

How it solves

This is a collector's puzzle. It is not meant for speedsolving, and it has no magnets, Ball-Core or MagLev. What matters most is figuring out how the circles behave and how to position them without messing up the rest of the puzzle. The mechanism is simple and has no magnets, so there is no point comparing it to speed cubes in terms of smoothness or corner cutting. With the first version, users reported that the circular pieces sometimes pop out (popping), but they are easy to put back in. Keep this in mind when turning hard.

For people who can already solve a Pyraminx or other shape-shifting puzzles and are looking for something new for their collection. It also makes a great gift for anyone who enjoys logic puzzles. For your first puzzle, it is better to choose a classic Pyraminx, as Crazy Tower II can quickly become discouraging if you don't know the basics.
