Our Klotski category is mostly made up of regular, mechanical sliding puzzles. SengSo Electronic Klotski is an electronic version of this brain teaser from ShengShou. SengSo is the brand ShengShou uses for some of its newer puzzles. The principle stays the same: you slide the pieces around the frame through the empty space and arrange them in the right order. The difference is that this sliding puzzle has built-in electronics.

How a Klotski sliding puzzle works

Nothing rotates here, and nothing is taken out of the frame. A piece can only move to a neighbouring empty space, so every move affects what you can do next. At first, most people solve by feel. Over time, most switch to a fixed order: they finish one part of the board, leave it untouched and keep working in a smaller area. This makes the solve take noticeably fewer moves and less time. That is exactly why many cubers pick up sliding puzzles. The thinking is similar to solving a cube, just in two dimensions.

The puzzle is flat and measures about 14 x 14 cm, with a height of about 3 cm. It sits steadily on a desk and fits easily in a backpack. The Stickerless Bright version has pieces made of coloured plastic, with no stickers. That means nothing peels off or wears away, even after a lot of sliding.
