SengSo MoSheng 7x7

SengSo MoSheng 7x7 is a new budget 7x7 cube from ShengShou, also sold under the SengSo brand. It measures 64 mm and weighs about 155 g, which makes it small and light for a 7x7. This version is stickerless with bright colors. The manufacturer also offers a magnetic variant, called MoSheng 7x7 M.

Size and weight

Size matters a lot with a 7x7. Older, classic ShengShou 7x7 cubes measured about 78 mm and weighed over 300 g. The MoSheng is noticeably smaller and roughly half the weight. It's easier to hold, and your wrists get less tired during long solves. That matters, because a single 7x7 solve takes several minutes. According to the manufacturer, the piece walls are 2 mm thick, which keeps the cube light without losing rigidity.

How it turns

The cube comes lubed and tensioned from the factory, so you can start solving right out of the box. The manufacturer describes it as smooth, stable and slightly tactile. The model is still new, so there are few independent reviews, and it's hard to say yet how it handles corner cutting and catching at high TPS. This is the non-magnetic version, so the layers don't snap into place on their own. For centers and edge pairing, you need to turn a bit more precisely than on a magnetic 7x7.

Standard or magnetic?

Both versions share the same size and design. The difference is that the M version has magnets. Magnets help you align the layers and give a more controlled, predictable turning feel, but the cube costs more. The non-magnetic version turns more lightly and is cheaper. It's a sensible choice if you're on a tight budget or simply prefer the feel without magnets.

Who is it for?

The MoSheng 7x7 works well as a first 7x7 cube for someone who already knows the 4x4 and 5x5 and wants to try a bigger cube without spending a lot. It's also great for casual solving and as a backup cube. Competitors who regularly train 7x7 for time will probably look at magnetic flagship cubes with more tension adjustment options.
