SengSo One-handed mini Timer is a small speedcubing timer from ShengShou (SengSo is this manufacturer's brand). It fits in your pocket, so you can take it to school, on a trip or to a meetup with other cubers when a large timer wouldn't fit in your backpack. It works just like full-size timers: it measures time with touch pads and shows your result to 0.01 s.

How this mini timer works

Place your hands on the touch pads. When you lift them, the timer starts, and when you put them back, it stops. The sensors react to the warmth of your hands, so you don't need to press anything to start or stop. It's more convenient and more accurate than a stopwatch on your phone. The LCD display shows minutes, seconds and hundredths of a second. When you compare consecutive solves, for example while practicing F2L or a new algorithm, hundredths of a second really do matter.

It's easy to use. There is a single button on the bottom: a short press turns the timer on, a long press turns it off. According to the manufacturer, this model has an improved electronic circuit designed to respond to touch faster and more reliably.

In your pocket, on your wrist, with your cups

The timer comes with an elastic cord attached. You can hang it up, wear it on your wrist or loop it around a set of sport stacking cups to keep the cups and timer together. Four non-slip feet on the bottom keep the timer from sliding across the table when you quickly put your hands down.

Who is it for?

For anyone who wants to time solves on a real timer with touch pads but doesn't need a large competition timer, or wants a second, smaller timer to carry around. It's a great first timer for kids, because using it comes down to one button. It also works well for sport stacking. Keep in mind that this is a practice timer. WCA competitions use full-size timers with a mat, so if you want to practice in exactly the same conditions as at a competition, choose a classic timer.
