Sengso Skewb Diamond M

Sengso Skewb Diamond M is the magnetic version of the Skewb Diamond from ShengShou. This puzzle is shaped like an octahedron and uses a Skewb mechanism. The turning axes are the same, but the different shape makes it look completely different and changes how you solve it. It is sometimes called the 2x2 FTO, because its layers turn around the triangular faces. It is simpler than a regular FTO (Face Turning Octahedron). The model was released in 2025. It is stickerless, with bright, vivid plastic colors (stickerless bright).

How it differs from a regular Skewb

It has the same number of pieces as a classic Skewb, but their roles are harder to read. The triangular pieces in the face centers have one color each. The corner pieces have four colors each and need to be oriented correctly. Because of this, even if you can already solve a Skewb, you have to learn to recognize the pieces all over again. That makes the Skewb Diamond a great next puzzle after the Skewb or Pyraminx. It gives you a new challenge without having to start learning from scratch.

M version: with magnets

The letter M in the name stands for magnets. They help each layer settle after a turn, so the puzzle "snaps" into place and is less likely to stay slightly misaligned. When solving, this means better control and fewer corrections. Our shop also offers the cheaper SengSo Skewb Diamond without magnets. It is enough if you just want to try this puzzle or are buying it for your collection. The M version makes more sense if you plan to solve it regularly and a bit faster.

Who is it for?

For those who have already mastered the 3x3 and diagonal-turning puzzles like the Skewb, and now want to try a different shape. The Skewb Diamond is a hobby puzzle, not a WCA event. So it makes sense as a break from standard cubes rather than as competition gear. The magnetic version is also a good gift for a child who likes cubes and wants something more unusual than yet another 3x3 cube.
