SengSo Timer V2 is an affordable speedcubing timer from ShengShou. It lets you time your solves at home more accurately than a stopwatch on your phone. Its shape resembles popular timers in the style of the SpeedStacks G4. On both sides of the display there are touch pads that start and stop the timing. You time your solves with your hands, just like at competitions, so you practise the correct start and stop right from the beginning. We offer it in red.

How a cube timer works

You place both hands on the touch pads. Timing starts when you lift them and stops when you put them back down. According to the sellers, the display shows the time to the thousandth of a second. The pads react to simply resting your hands on them, so you don't need to press hard. The same timer also works for sport stacking (stacking cups against the clock) and other timed games.

What the V2 version can do

• Personal best (PB) memory. The timer remembers your best time, so you can see your progress without an app.
• Powered by AAA batteries. The timer needs 2 AAA batteries, which are not included. You need to buy them separately.
• Precise display. Times are shown in milliseconds, which matters for short solves.

This is a simple timer with no extra features. It doesn't show averages and doesn't count down inspection time. If you want to track ao5 or ao12, you will usually use it together with csTimer or a phone app and enter your results there.

Who is it for?

For anyone who already solves regularly and wants to start timing like at competitions. It's a good choice for a first timer, and also as a gift for a child who is getting hooked on speedcubing. A mat is useful for practice: the timer stands stably on it, and the cube doesn't slide across the table.
