The ShengShou Kilominx is a 2x2 version of the megaminx. It consists only of corners and is solved much like a 2x2 cube. It offers light, smooth turning and screw tension adjustment, but its corner cutting is weak, so it's better suited for fun and collecting than for speedsolving.
The Kilominx has the same dodecahedron shape as a classic megaminx, but it has no edges or centers. It consists only of corners, so you solve it much like a 2x2 cube. This 2x2 megaminx has no fixed centers to show you the color of each face. You have to work out where the colors go from the corners alone, which can be confusing at first, even if you already know how to solve a 2x2.
Turning is smooth and light, and after a few solves the puzzle usually breaks in and runs even more smoothly. Its weaker side is corner cutting. Imprecise turns cause lockups, and reverse corner cutting practically doesn't work. To avoid catches, you need to align the layers carefully. Some users also find the puzzle very light and easy to turn by accident. A thicker lube calms it down a little. Despite these limitations, the ShengShou Kilominx is often named one of the better kilominxes in its class.
The mechanism is moderately advanced and has adjustment screws that let you set the tension. The puzzle is very hard to take apart, so it's best not to disassemble it unless you really need to. You also shouldn't twist the corners the way people sometimes do with 2x2 cubes, as this can easily break a piece.
The Kilominx is not a WCA event, so it's a puzzle for fun and collecting rather than for competition practice. It's a great choice if you want to try a dodecahedron without going for a full megaminx, or if you collect ShengShou puzzles. Megaminx solvers can use it to practice placing corners without edges. It's also an easy brain teaser to enjoy at home.

Bardzo przyzwoita kostka, dość płynna i przyjemna do zabawy.
EKSTRA
Super produkt
Fajne urozmaicenie megaminxa
