Small Felt Squeegee

Small Felt Squeegee

This small felt squeegee is used to smooth self-adhesive film and stickers. The felt-covered edge presses the material onto the surface and pushes out air bubbles from underneath. At 10 cm wide, it fits comfortably in your hand and is easy to use on small surfaces where a large squeegee would be awkward.

What it's for

Run the squeegee over the applied film from the center towards the edges. This pushes the air out and lets the film lie flat against the surface. The felt is soft and glides over the surface, so there is less risk of scratching the film than with a bare plastic edge, a bank card or a ruler. This matters especially with glossy films, where every scratch is immediately visible.

Typical uses:

• stickers and decorative films on flat or slightly curved surfaces,
• protective films and wraps on small items, e.g. housings and covers,
• pressing down larger stickers that are hard to smooth with your finger without leaving fingerprints and bubbles.

How to use it

Hold the squeegee at a slight angle to the surface and move it in even strokes in one direction. Don't press too hard right at the edge of the sticker, as it may lift and curl. If a bubble stays trapped in the middle, it's better to gently lift that part of the film and smooth it again than to try to force it out. Over time the felt can collect dust, so before working with light-colored or glossy films, check that the edge is clean.

Small or larger squeegee?

The small size works well with small items and short sections of film, as it makes it easier to control the pressure and work around raised areas. When wrapping large, flat surfaces, a wider squeegee lets you finish faster and leaves fewer overlapping strokes.
