VeryPuzzle Stingray is a spherical twisty puzzle, also known as a ball puzzle. It comes from the Chinese manufacturer VeryPuzzle, which makes unusual puzzles with many axes of rotation, including the Tuttminx series, the Clover Dodecahedron and the DIRT. The Stingray has a diameter of approx. 74.5 mm and a black body. This is not a cube for breaking records. It is a puzzle for collectors and for anyone who enjoys figuring out new mechanisms on their own.

How it differs from classic puzzles

On the flat faces of a Megaminx or a 3x3 cube, you can see right away where the centers and edges are. A sphere has no such reference points, so at first you need to take a moment to understand how the cuts run and which pieces move together. That is why puzzles like this are challenging even for people who can easily solve big NxN cubes or minxes.

In practice, knowing commutators and having general experience with unusual puzzles will help you solve the Stingray. Unlike the 3x3 or the Megaminx, this model has no popular ready-made method. You will usually have to work out the solution yourself.

Stingray vs. Big Stingray

VeryPuzzle also offers a larger puzzle, the IRT V1.0, which is also sold under the name Big Stingray. It is a separate model with different dimensions, not a different color version of this product. This page features the classic, smaller Stingray with a diameter of approx. 74.5 mm.

Who is it for?

For cubers who have already mastered the standard puzzles and are looking for a collection piece or a new challenge. It is a good choice for anyone who collects VeryPuzzle puzzles or ball puzzles. We do not recommend it as a first puzzle for a child or a beginner. To get started, a 3x3 is a better choice, and among the minxes, the classic Megaminx.
