WitEden 3x3x11 II is a cuboid with eleven layers along one axis, measuring about 73 x 58 x 58 mm. Unlike version I, its three middle layers are rotated by 90 degrees, which makes it noticeably harder to solve. It's a non-magnetic puzzle for those who already have experience with cuboids.
WitEden 3x3x11 II is a cuboid with eleven layers along one axis. The whole puzzle is about 73 mm long. The bases are square, about 58 x 58 mm, and the layers are thin, so its shape is clearly different from a classic 3x3 cube. What sets it apart from version I is that the three middle layers are rotated by 90 degrees. At first glance it looks like the same cuboid, but once scrambled, it solves in a completely different way.
In version I, all the layers are oriented the same way, so a regular 3x3 and a general approach to cuboids are usually enough. In version II, the rotated middle layers break that pattern. After scrambling, pieces end up in places they could never reach in version I. This means part of the solve has to be done intuitively, and ready-made algorithms from NxNxN cubes will only cover some of the steps. If this is your first WitEden, it's easier to start with version I. Version II is for those who already know this format.
This is a collector's puzzle and a brain teaser, not a speedcube. It has no magnets. With so many thin layers, you can't expect the light turning and good corner cutting of a modern 3x3. Opinions about the models in this series agree: patience pays off when turning. Thin layers are harder to grip one at a time, and aggressive scrambling can lead to lockups or popping. If you turn precisely rather than forcing it, you'll have lots of fun with it for many hours.
For cubers who can comfortably solve a 3x3, have already tackled a few cuboids and are looking for something more challenging. It also fits nicely into a WitEden puzzle collection, as it looks unusual on the shelf. It's not a good choice as a first puzzle, including for a child. It's better to master a regular 3x3 and a simpler cuboid first.
