How to solve it

The Rainbow looks harder than it really is. If you know the basics of the Skewb or other corner-turning puzzles, you will usually figure out quickly how this puzzle works. For everyone else, it is a good introduction to puzzles that turn along corner axes. This is not a speedcubing puzzle. According to user reviews, the mechanism works properly, but it can be a bit "clunky" and less stable when turns are not precise. Calm, accurate turning works better here than high TPS.

Rainbow or Rainbow Plus?

WitEden also offers the Rainbow Plus version. From the outside it looks almost the same, but its square pieces are split into two parts. This means the Plus can also be turned like a 2x2, which noticeably raises the difficulty. The standard Rainbow Magic Cube is simpler and works better as your first encounter with this shape.

Who is it for?

Above all, for collectors and anyone who wants an unusual WitEden puzzle on their shelf. The Rainbow is also a nice break from 3x3 for cubers who already know the Skewb and are looking for something with an unusual shape, without spending a long time learning algorithms. It is not a WCA event, so it is not suitable for training for official competitions.
