WitEden Super Cube 3x3x6

WitEden Super Cube 3x3x6 is a 3x3x6 cuboid with a black body. At first glance it looks just like the regular WitEden 3x3x6. The difference is in the 3x3 layers: they have round pieces that let the puzzle scramble in more ways than the standard version. It's a puzzle for people who already know the 3x3 and a few cuboids and are looking for something less obvious. It's not a cube for setting records.

How it's built

All pieces have the same dimensions along all three axes. As a result, the cube is twice as tall as it is wide, and the layers don't change shape as you turn them. The mechanism is a so-called center-shifted 3x3x7, meaning a 3x3x7 design with one 3x3 layer fewer. In practice, the tall axis behaves like a 3x3x7 but without one layer, so the center isn't exactly in the middle of the puzzle.

How it differs from a regular 3x3x6

On a classic 3x3x6 cuboid, you mainly need to solve the long edges and the centers on the 3x6 faces, and then deal with parity. The Super version adds round pieces on the 3x3 layers. They scramble independently of the rest, so they increase the number of possible positions and require an extra solving step. If you haven't solved any 3x3xN cuboid yet, you may want to start with a simpler model, e.g. a 3x3x4 or a regular 3x3x6, and only then move on to the Super version.

Who is it for?

For collectors of unusual puzzles and cubers who enjoy figuring out new puzzles. Because of its elongated shape and more pieces than a regular 3x3, we don't recommend it as a child's first cube.
